to get even with someone  - ajustar cuentas con alguien
I cheated on my lover, now I think she's going get even with me.
to make one's day  - alegrarle el día a alguien
That bunch of flowers realy made my day.   
to have one's wits about one  - andar con mucho ojo, estar alerta
I need to have my wits about me for the exam.
to beat around/about the bush  - andarse con rodeos
Stop beating around the bush and get to the point.   
to come alive  - animarse
He's in love, he comes alive when I mention her name.
